Mengenal Simple Present Tense dalam bahasa inggris

Simple present tense digunakan untuk menyatakan suatu perbuatan yang dilakukan setiap hari yang merupakan suatu kebiasaan.

Rumus :

I, You, They, We	Verb 1
He, She, It	Verb 1 + S/ES

Fungsi Simple Present Tense :

a.    Menunjukkan suatu kebiasaan (habitual action)

Contoh :

·         I always go to school every morning.

·         He often speaks English with his friends.

·         She takes an English course twice a week.

b.    Menunjukkan kebenaran yang tidak dapat dipungkiri

Contoh :

·         The sun rises in the east.

·         The earth revolves around the sun.

c.    Menunjukkan aktivitas yang akan dilaksanakan pada masa yang akan datang namun aktivitas tersebut merupakan suatu kebiasaan.

Contoh :

·         They take examination the day after tomorrow.

·         He goes to Surabaya next week.

The Simple Present Tense dalam bentuk negative :

Rumus :

I, We, They	Do not	Verb 1
He, She, It	Does not	Verb 1

Contoh :

1.    I do not understand English.

2.    They do not like play volleyball.

3.    She does not go to the party.

Dalam bentuk question :

Do	I, We, They	Verb 1
Does	He, She,It	Verb 1

Contoh :

1.    Do you play the piano everyday ?

2.    Does your father go to Jakarta twice a week.
